Description:
I need a program that grabs the headlines on sports.yahoo.com (the ten headlines under Top Stories in the middle of the page) in PHP. I need just the headline, and not the league. For instance, one headline right now is:
Maddox walks, released from hospital - NFL
I need
Maddox walks, released from hospital
only, stored in a variable.
Each of the ten headlines needs its own variable, such as:
$headline1 = Maddox walks, released from hospital $headline2 = McNabb may miss season and playoffs
Deliverables:
1) The PHP file that will grab the headlines from sports.yahoo.com
Platform:
PHP
Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:
Nov 22, 2002 EDT

If you notice a violation please help out the site and report it. Thanks for your help.

Easy enough, here's a demo of the working script:
http://dev.digitalrice.com/rac/headlines.php
Internally they're stored as $headline1, $headline2 etc, as you wanted.
I'm not sure if you wanted the headlines as URLs or plain text, either way it's no problem for me to change it to suit.
Regards, Tom
