Description:
Create an installer for a JAVA front end and mySQL back end for windows XP.
The JAVA front end has already been done and will be found in the attachments. Please read the README_FIRST file to get an idea of what needs to be done.
Basically all the ".java" files are included and a script to create mySQL is also available in a seperate folder.
What I would like is an installer that would ask the user questions on where they want the packages to be stored on their computer, the username and password for the mysql server etc... create the mySQL database automatically and "do what ever it needs to do" to get the app up running.
Once installed I would like to be able to double click an icon to start the program.
As you will see in the README file there are two known bugs. If you can fix these, it would be great.
Also this bid includes support to get all the software running properly on my windows XP machine.
Deliverables: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
Windows XP

Hello, APIM:
I was able to successfully compile and run your application on my machine. Though, I have had to tweak the MySQL installation script a bit.
My bid is for a Java installer.
I would like to modify the existing Java source files so that they obtain the database properties at runtime by reading them from a property file. The file will be created by the installer as part of the installation process. Thus, should the client need to change the database properties, it will only be necessary to edit the property file, without recompiling the sources.
MySQL should have already been installed on the client computer. The installer will supply the JDBC drivers necessary for the application to connect to the the database.
If this is not an option, we could negotiate further. Keep in mind, however, that my location is Sofia, Bulgaria, which is GMT+2.
As of the known issues described in the README - yes, it will be relatively easy to have them fixed.
Please, do not hesitate to contact me for any comments or questions you might have. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Dimitar
