Description:
Hello All Coders,
I&'m looking for an IP Messenger application (written in VB6) that will allow me to send both single messages and broadcast a single message to an IP range. It will be used primarily by Help Desk employees to notify clients without having to use Email (which involves… matching IP to MAC Address to Jack to locate client names to use Email - you can see what a lengthy process it is at times ;-)
Here are some specs:
Needs to work (send and receive) on our supported platforms (Win 98, 2000 and XP)
Just needs to send simple text messages, please no database requirements
Do not need full “chat” capabilities, just one-way messaging from Help Desk to client
This is strictly a simple one-way messaging system. I don't want anything on the client side. I remember there used to be a tool available that I think came with one of the early Windows (95 or 98) operating systems that did this sort of thing.
Anyway, I thought it would be a great way for the Help Desk at school to contact people for IP tracking purposes and such without having to spend hours trying to trace them.
It needs to work across more than a single subnet because the school has three major ranges as it is very spread out.

Deliverables:
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.

Deadline legal notes: All times are expressed in the time zone of the site EDT (UT - 5). If the buyer omitted a time, then the deadline is 11:59:59 PM EDT on the indicated date.
Special Conditions / Other:
I am happy to pay promptly at completion of project. If the project is completed sooner than expected, please send it along to get paid quickly.
Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements.
We monitor all site activity for such violations and can instantly expel transgressers on the spot, so we thank you in advance for your cooperation.
If you notice a violation please help out the site and report it. Thanks for your help.

See SendText.exe in the zip file (VB6 runtime library needed): this is just a test application, it sends the message to your pc itself (in the full version, you will be able to select a range of ip). You don't need to install anything on the client side.
