Description:
We need a Simple WAP application that pulls data from our SQL Server and displays the current values in a database table.
We have a list of approx 26 Stream Gauges that populate a database. We need a User friendly EASY to operate WAP interface that will allow a user to select the Station they want to see the values on then provide a simple menu of the sensors that are available at that station and then when they select the sensor it will provide the Values & Date time for the last 5 entries.
Deliverables: We can and have created a similar application in ASP for a regular web browser and it was very easy an simple to produce however we need these values to be accessible though a Cell phone with a WAP browser We use Motorola i50sx and i55sr both use the UP.Browser from openwave.com version 4.1.26b. We have a Windows 2000 server running IIS5. We need the user to be able to scroll through QUICKLY and easily to the station they want. We want to be able to give the user the option on the "Default" page to scroll though all the stations when they can hit a single button 0 - 9 for the current DECK and then have a "more" button to list each DECK. The other option on the Default page would be a way they can enter the Station ID directly and then go to the Sensor list for that station. the sensor list is also dynamically drive by the SQL tables and the menu should also have the ability to hit a button 1 -9 on their menu to get the last 5 values recorded for that sensor. If you can figure a way for the user to "Reload" that page so it is NOT cached on Nextel's server it would be great. Cell phones are not the easiest to operate a web browser so the ABSOLUTE import ant requirement is being user friendly. Please note that Nextel's servers provide web page caching so you will need to ensure the (http-equiv="Cache-Control" content="max-age=0") and the Response.AddHeader "Content-Location", "nocache" , Response.Expires = 0 tags are in place since the data will always be updated on this application. Lastly we have our logo that we would like to be on the Default "page"
You can download the Actual WAP browser used in Nextel phones at http://developer.openwave.com/download/index.html remember we are using ver 4.1.26b so be user to download ver SDK 4.1.1

I have experience in m-Commerce applications, and will be glad to work on this project. But, your current deadline of Oct 30th might not be feasible. Please provide me with a little more time - 10 days perhaps. I assure you that I will have the application ready 'at the earliest'.
Please accept my bid, if the solution given below is suitable...
The first page will display the list of stations...9 per card (as per the OpenWave standards). The user can select a station using the keypad (1...9). Another option at the top of the page, will allow the user to enter the station ID into a textbox.
Following this, the list of sensors will be displayed in a similar fashion, with similar functionality.
The next deck will load the last 5 values (along with the time-stamp) for that sensor-station pair.
The main page will contain your logo, as requested. Please provide me with a WBMP version of the logo, or atleast a 1-bit version of the logo, in any image format.
Kindly note that I will need FTP access to your development webserver, for the duration of this project.
I eagerly look forward to working with you.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely, C.Senthil Kumar. |
