Description:
Capture video in VB 6 app
I want video capture functionality, based upon a modified version of DirectX 8.1 SDK's AmCap sample, added to my Visual Basic application.
I&'d like to make the capturing process as simple as possible for the end user. So, instead of the AmCap-type menu selection/dialog pop-up's, I'd prefer having all capture parameters located in a single VB (or other form) dialog. The component/code you create should reference and use these basic AmCap settings, as well as, some additional custom settings which I desire. I&'ve already worked out those custom settings in VB code as part of a small, prototype project. When your bid has been accepted, I&'ll provide this prototype, which will make it easy to understand what you need to do. You can use it to help build/test the final working VB project which will demonstrate the video capture function you&'ve created.
Deliverables: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
Win XP, 98, 2000 and other Windows OS if possible, excluding Win 95 is OK
Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:
Nov 30, 2002 EDT
Deadline legal notes: All times are expressed in the time zone of the site EDT (UT - 5). If the buyer omitted a time, then the deadline is 11:59:59 PM EDT on the indicated date.
Special Conditions / Other:
Need to know how you plan to incorporate component/code in my exisitng VB 6 app before accepting your bid. "CreateProcess" should not be considered.
If you&'d like additional information before submitting your bid, please let me know.
Thank you, Gary Brooks

Gary,
I received an invitation to bid on this a while back and it has taken me a while to take a look at it. Sorry about that!
What I can do for you is to turn the AMCap code into an ActiveX control that you can access from VB. This should allow you the greatest flexibility. The reason the bid may be a little higher than the typical sample code modification is that I will have to use Visual C++/ATL to wrap the functionality and to expose properties and methods that correspond to the custom settings that you want. I can definitely meet your deadline of 11/30.
If you have any questions or want to suggest an alternate approach just let me know.
Thanks, NamTac
