Description:
I need a simple CGI script that will display a Web surfer&'s IP address (REMOTE_ADDR) and hostname. It should be coded in Perl 5.x and I need to be able to call it using SSI (Server Side Includes). It should NOT log the address or hostname to a file or a database. It should only DISPLAY the information on the page that it is called from. For an example, please look at the bottom of https://biscx.safesrv.com/new/newacct.html
I am setting up an e-commerce site and I plan to use this script (among other things) as a credit card fraud deterrent on an ordering page. The script MUST work under Unix/Linux systems and be compatible with the Apache Web server. I also need the option of displaying just the IP address, just the hostname, or both. Coder will also need to tell me which CHMOD to use when setting up the script. Furthermore, do NOT use JavaScript, Java, or ActiveX to get the user&'s IP and hostname! This will not work if they have these things turned off.
Again, here are the requirements:
-Must be coded in Perl 5.x and work on Unix/Linux systems -Must be able to call it via SSI -Must be compatible with Apache Web server -Does NOT need to be logged to a database or file -Should have an option to display only IP, only hostname, or both -Coder must inform me which CHMOD # to use -No use of JavaScript, Java, or ActiveX coding
Deliverables: Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
Complete copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
Unix/Linux compatible Apache Web server compatible
Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:
Aug 20, 2002 12:00:00 PM EDT
Deadline legal notes: All times are expressed in the time zone of the site EDT (UT - 5). If the buyer omitted a time, then the deadline is 11:59:59 PM EDT on the indicated date.
Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements.
We monitor all site activity for such violations and can instantly expel transgressers on the spot, so we thank you in advance for your cooperation.
If you notice a violation please help out the site and report it. Thanks for your help.

You don't even need to use Perl for this as SSI provides this for you. But I attached Perl with SSI example & SSI by itself example
Please let me know if you have any problems
