Description:
I need a VB 6.0 application to allow users to browse and select a tab-delimited text file and import it into an MS Access database. There is only one table to update. The user will need to browse and select the MS Access database as well.
The ability to allow multiple selections of text files to be imported at the same time would be nice to have - but not a mandatory requirement.
Most (all?) of the SQL code that is required to manipulate the data is included in the macro within the attached .MDB file below. (right click and "zoom" from within the Access Macro Editor to see the full SQL command). I have provided it to serve as a spec - I do not expect the application to run a Macro!
Upon completion of the import, a list of row counts grouped by one of the columns (Template ID) needs to be displayed. This list should be scrollable, since there is no way to anticipate how many different groupings may occur (although I expect it will typically be less than 10). [Centralized Activity].[Template ID] will need to be joined to it's display value, Template.[Template Description]) to make the counts more readable for the user.
A form is included within the .MDB file to serve as a very rough representation of what I'm looking for. It does not show the ability to select the .MDB file - which is a requirement.
I have also included a sample log file (tab-delimited).
This is the first of 5 or 6 similar projects that I may be submitting for bid.

Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
Complete copyrights to all work purchased.

MDAC 2.5 or greater
