Description:
Web site updates and small changes, shopping cart addition

Please feel free to make suggestions as we are doing these upgrades if you see a better way.

It is important to note that this site went live on June 3rd. We are selling tickets. This means that we can&'t update the site with any changes until we are completely finished. We will need to be able to test the updates before they are implemented.

General specs for the site are it must be in ASP for server side processing and Java script for client side work and we wish to not use session variables.

Here are the current issues we have to solve:

Problem: we are moving data up and down into the access database using a rather clunky method. Copying the access database causes problems. Replication is a thought but a simpler more cost effective method might be to split out the .mdb files which have the data we are moving. The reasons for moving data are we need to update event information, we need to update community partner information and we need to see orders and customer information.

Solution: pull the customer; order tables into their own .mdb file and reference those tables through a separate connection with updated queries throughout. This will allow us to do our data transfers easily.

Problem: we are pulling outdated events and sold out events in our search queries.

Solution: Add “where” clause to all event queries to filter out outdated events “ [eventdate] >= date()”. Add logic in event queries which will show an upcoming event that is sold out as sold out. This logic should show an image in the results row that says something like “sold out”. The where clause information is found in the eventstatusID.

Problem: need a shopping cart… in one order we need to be able to choose multiple events and ticket types. We originally modeled our plan after another successful site which did not use a shopping cart.

Solution: create a cart which allows customer to purchase many tickets of different events and ticket types in one order. The order does not need to persist past the current session. In other words if they close their browser or leave the site, they loose the items in the cart. Session timeout should be 30 minutes. We don&'t care to keep a history of old shopping cart items, we are only wish to store the order and order details.

Problem: no https on order page

Deliverables:
Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

Complete copyrights to all work purchased.

Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:
Jun 13, 2002 EDT
Deadline legal notes: All times are expressed in the time zone of the site EDT (UT - 5). If the buyer omitted a time, then the deadline is 11:59:59 PM EDT on the indicated date.

Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements. We monitor all site activity for such violations and can instantly expel transgressers on the spot, so we thank you in advance for your cooperation. If you notice a violation please help out the site and report it. Thanks for your help.
