Description:
i have collectibles website and want a custom auction format for the site www.irocks.com featuring the following: easy and preferably automated way for me to assemble a frontpage of the auction featuring thumbnail sized pictures (not just text links!) of the items along with 4 lines for text description; hyperlinks from those thumbnail jpgs directed to a unique second page for each item which would be created automatically when the auction item is created and provide the bidder with a larger version of the same pic and additional pics and text description as needed; automated realtime update of bids (minimum increment bid feature optional, but preferable); auction end time to be "flexible" and have each item individually end 5 minutes after the last bid was received (rather than at a set time). generation from database a plus. maintenance of customer list/registration not necessary but would be nice if not too much additional work. no online billing functions required. no frills look is fine - just need it to work efficiently!
Deliverables: Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
Complete copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
all standard net browsers, i would hope!
Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:
May 25, 2002 EDT
Deadline legal notes: All times are expressed in the time zone of the site EDT (UT - 5). If the buyer omitted a time, then the deadline is 11:59:59 PM EDT on the indicated date.
Special Conditions / Other:
flexible, can work on deadline extension if need be but woudl prefer to be done by then, payment no problem
will be hosted on new website www.mineralauctions.com which i own
will promise to use same coder for modifications / other jobs in future

This sounds like a fairly easy project. For the database side of things, I would either use SQL Server 2000 or MS Access (whichever you have available to you). For the web page side of things, I would use either ASP or ASP.NET (ASP.NET runs faster). This project would take approx. 10-15 hours to complete. Add on time for testing/bug fixes/final approval. Please send me more detailed specifications that you would like to have is this web site and I would be happy to give you a better time estimate.
I have 8 years of Visual Basic (versions 4-6), MS Access, and Windows (all versions). I have 4 years of SQL Server (versions 7-2000), Javascrip and ASP. I have 2 years of .NET experience (including ASP.NET, VB.NET and C#.NET). I know my way around a Linux box (including Apache Web Server, Sendmail (smtp), QPopper (pop3), telnet, ssh, and other various protocols).
Thanks in advance for considering my bid.
Thanks, Paul Hendryx
