Description:
We own 22 tourism domains, one of which will be a portal- tourismdepot.com.
There will be two types of users- visitors to the country/city/state and merchants that want to put their businesses in front of these users. Merchants will need to sign-up (www.tourismdepot.com/tourd/main/register.asp), create locations, add billing data and pay for each of the 22 sites their listing appears on. The billing will be automated via credit card with discounts available for longer commitments(1year vs. monthly), etc. Businesses will be categorized (hotel, restaurant,ski-resort, etc) and each category will have a unique display template which we will create dynamically from our administration area. The merchant may upload photos, and choose the ameneties(if a hotel, pets allowed, kosher cooking, gym facilites, etc.), food type(chinese, mexican), which will be searchable by visitors. One merchant may have multiple locations which will be billed together.
Visitors to the site will be able to search for let's say chinese food restaurants by radius using geodata, zip/city/state info. Visitors will be able to rate merchants using a star system which will be used to sort the search results. They will also be provided with an information request form which we will sell to merchants as leads for a dollar amount per.
We have a database of hotel info from travel now which will be integrated as we are paid for each hotel reservation referred by our sites.
The 21 other sites will point into the same ip/scription as tourismdepot.com and will use a different header(we have them all complete and ready to implement- nyctourism.com, irelandtourism.com, etc.)
A classifieds system will need to be implemented for rental properties in each of these areas to be listed.
Our administration area will be quite comprehensive allowing us to add, delete, view stats, add sections to the individual site home pages, push content, etc.
This is a brief overview of the actual requirements. The current admin area of the site is here: http://www.tourismdepot.com/tourd/admin/ you will see there are quite a few functions already there.
Deliverables:
Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
Installation and implementation on server, bug free.
Complete copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
Server is win2000 and we have 100 megs of sql space. The project is vbscript and asp now. I am open to suggestions as we also have a dedicated linux server that has plenty of room and mysql. It would be a cost savings to me to redesign and implement on the unix box.

We have a dedicated server (windows 2000)for this project and have had two programmers take the job and bail out for personal reasons so we are very leary. They have dragged us along since Sept 2001, both times leaving us with a non-functional site and a server bill. The project is in mid-stream now with quite a few working functions, but they aren't tied together.

Hi,
I am very much interested in the project.
Let me first explain in short about a similar application I have completed earlier, which is LIVE and is doing business.
The application is stayxs.com
This is an online hotel reservation engine. This engine is being used by about 150 partners (websites) as of today.(thomascook.co.in , mantraonline.com to name a few)

After visiting the above, you should notice that each stayxs partner has its own template (layout) that matches the layout of the parent website. stayxs.com is hosted on a dedicated Win 2K machine and uses SQLServer database. stayxs.com has a comprehensive admin area for all the concerned - for.e.g. Property Agetns, Travel Agents, Website Admin, PArtners etc.
PAYPAL is being used for online Credit card payments. I also have integrated WORLDPAY in some of my earlier e-commerce projects.
I have working experience with XML too. So, if you prefer, I can also work on for a XML integration. THis way, your merchants could opt for any of the following: 1.only have to the XML data and present that data in any layout they needed OR 2. have the data and layout being served from your server (as with most of stayxs partners)
If you prefer, I would work for this application from scratch.
After completion, I will install it on the server. You will have to let me know all server details.
I will able to coomunicate with you with IM like ICQ/Yahoo messanger. But this can only be after you accept my bid. Right now RAC is the only way to communicate.
Price:
From the current understanding of the project, I price this application for 3530 USD.
