Description:
We need a Java Class that could be executed from Unix and NT command line. The goal is to be able to execute Oracle or OS scripts remotely without installing any software on the remote machine. The returned messages should look just like messages user would see in the Telnet window if he would run the script from there. The class should be able to accept the following parameters: Hostname, UserId, Password, OS Type and filename of the file, which will contain shell script or NT script.

Something like this:

c:\java jtelnet host01 user01 pass01 UNIX myscript.txt

All this class has to do is::
1. Establish telnet session to the remote machine
2. Execute my script
3. Return results to my console.

Program should accept any input file and execute it on the remote mashine without modifications.

Program should work on any flavor of Unix operating system.

It would be nice if the program could determine OS type on it&'s own and display an error message if user is attempting to execute shell script on NT machine for example.

here is the example of my shell script.
-------------------------
#!/bin/ksh
#set oracle SID
ORACLE_SID=rddt; export ORACLE_SID

#set ORACLE_HOME
for i in `cat /etc/oratab | sed -n '/^[^# ]/ p' | awk -F: '{if
($1=="rmdt") print $2}'`
do
ORACLE_HOME=$i; export ORACLE_HOME
done

# run server manager commands
svrmgrl << END
connect internal;
select name from v\$database;
exit;
END
-------------------------

Hi,

I understand what needs to be done. I have developed many applications in java some that involved telneting to Juniper routers and configuring them, executing commands on them and parsing the returned string to interpret the results.

I'm confident I can do this assignment in a very short period of time.
thank you for your time.
